QuestionAnswer
Density The amount of matter in a certain amount of space
Solid A state of matter that has a definite shape and volume
Change in state The process when one state of matter is changed due to heat or coolness
Matter Anything that has mass and takes up space
Decay The point where an animal or plant loses energy
Liquid A state of matter that does have volume but not shape
Physical Change A change in which a substance remains the same substance
Magnification The process of making objects appear larger
Weight A measure of the heaviness of an object
Mass The amount of matter in an object measured in grams or kilograms
Microscope A tool that makes small objects appear bigger
Gravity A force of attraction that acts between all objects because of their mass
Volume The amount of space a substance takes up
Gas A state of matter that doesn't have a definite volume or shape
Chemical reaction A change in which on or more new substances are formed
Oxidation A chemical reaction in which a substance loses electrons
Atom The smallest unit of an element that has the properties of that element
Element A substance made of only one kind of atom
Element A group of two or more atoms that are joined chemically
Mixture A combonation two or more substances
Compound A substance made of two or more differnent elements
