These are 5 themes to help you study!

QuestionAnswer
What are the 5 themes of geography? Place,Region,Interaction,Location,Movement.
What is geography? The study of the earth and everything on it.
What is the 2 parts of Place? Physical differences (or characteristics) Things that occur naturally, like mountains, rivers, types of soil, wildlife, climate,etc. Human differences (or things that have changed due to people, such as roads & buildings.
What is regions. Regions are grouped together in general terms ex. ".The North," "The Middle East," or " The Far East."
What is in the human-environment Interaction? How people have been changed by the environment. Ex. Living cold=warm clothes. how the environment has been changed by people. ex. cutting down trees. How people depend on the environment. ex. oxygen.
What is the 2 parts of Location? Specific=absolute location ex. a street address, latitude & longitude coordinates, a phone number, a website. General= relative location ex. "next to Kroger," "in front of the bank," " near the gymnasium"
What does Movement include? Movement includes the movement of people, things, such as goods, as well as communications (the movement of ideas).
