| Counterclaim | The other side: It shows the opposing P.O.V. on a topic. |
| Metaphor | Comparing two unlike things WITHOUT using like or as. |
| 1st Person P.O.V. | Spoken from a personal account, using the words such as "I", "My", "We", "Me". |
| Symbol | An object, word, or sign to represent something in some way. |
| What happened to the Plain Janes? | Split up, and the others joined different groups/clans, while Melinda was deemed an outcast due to not having a group/clan. |
