Parts of a Story (PLOT)
| Term | Definition |

| Point of View | Who is telling the story. (Use the pronouns in the story for clues) 1st person "I", 3rd person "he/she") |
| Exposition | The beginning of the story that introduces the characters and the setting, |
| Setting | When and where the story takes place. |
| Conflict | The main problem or struggle faced by the characters. |
| Rising Action | The series of events that build tension and increase the main problem. |
| Climax | The most exciting moment of the story. |
| Falling Action | The events after the climax that begin to solve the main problem. |
| Resolution | The ending where the main conflict is fully resolved. |
| *Theme | The life lesson, big idea, or moral of a story. |
