Electrical Energy
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| complete circuit/closed circuit | a path of conductors through which electricity can flow |
| Incomplete circuit/open circuit | a conducting circle or loop through which current cannot flow |
| energy source | the part of a current that provides the power or “push” to make electricity move |
| flow | the continuous movement of electrical energy along a path |
| fuse | a safety device that breaks a circuit if the electrical current gets too high or too hot. |
| load | any device in a circuit that uses electricity to do a job |
| transform | changed in form or appearance |
| circuit | a complete or closed path around which an electric current can flow |
| conductor | a material that allows heat and electricity to pass through easily |
| electric current | the steady flow of electricity moving along a path or circuit |
| electrical circuit | a closed conducting circle or loop through which current can flow |
| electrical energy | energy that results from the flow of charged particles through conductors |
| electricity | a form of energy that flows through wires to power lights, appliances, and electronics |
| insulator | a material that does not allow heat or electricity to flow easily |
| light | a form of energy that can be seen with the human eye |
| motion | the act of moving or changing positions |
| sound | energy made by vibrations that we can hear with our ears |
| switch | a device for making and breaking the connection in an electric circuit |
| thermal energy | energy that comes from heat. It is created by the movement of tiny particles inside an object. |
