Social Studies Zoo Words for Zoo unit

TermDefinition
Climate A pattern of weather that repeats every year and is consistent.
Weather The temperature, precipitation, and cloud formations of a particular outdoor area at that current time.
Landform A feature on the earth that make up geography.
Environment The climate, plants, animals, and other conditions making up a certain area.
Region An area of the earth that has its own environment.
Savannah A grassland like region that has a wet and dry season that is known for hot climates.
Rainforest A humid jungle like place with a diverse population of animals that thrive well in dense vegetation.
Drought A period of time in which water is scarce.
Deforestation The destruction of vegetation of a particular area to benefit human goals.
Habitat A place with its own environment, climate, and certain animals that fit the conditions can thrive.
Conservation The act of preserving nature for the future benefit.
Inference A conclusion made based on evidence and reasoning.
