| Displacement | the change in position of an object from start to finish |
| Elastic potential energy | energy stored in an object that can be stretched or compressed |
| Energy | the capacity to do work or cause change |
| Energy transfer | the movement of energy from one object or system to another |
| Energy transformation | the conversion of energy from one form to another |
| Force | a push or pull that can change an object's motion |
| Friction | a force that opposes motion between two surfaces in contact |
| Gravity | a force that pulls objects toward the center of Earth |
| Gravitational potential energy | energy stored in an object due to its position above Earth's surface |
| Kinetic energy | energy of motion |
| Magnetism | a force exerted by magnetic objects that can act at a distance |
| Mass | the amount of matter in an object |
| Motion | a change in position of an object over time |
| Net force | the overall force acting on an object after all forces are combined |
