University An institution of learning of the highest level, having a program of graduate studies together with several professional schools,
Community College A nonresidential college established to serve a specific community
Admissions The office you apply to when sending in your college application
Undergraduate A student in a university or college who has not received a first degree.
Graduate A student who holds the bachelor's or first professional degree.
Tuition The charge or fee for instruction
Credit A unit that measures learning
Major The specific area of study you're focused on while earning your degree.
Minor A secondary area of specialization
Bachelors degree A degree awarded by a college or university to a person who has completed undergraduate studies
Associates degree A degree awarded by a community college after completing two years of study
scholarship A sum of money or other aid granted to a student to peruse their studies.
Grant Something granted to a student studio at a college or university
FAFSA Free application for federal student aid
Financial aid monetary support, as a loan or scholarship
state university/college A college that is financially supported by the state government
Liberal arts The academic course of instruction at a college intend to provide general knowledge and comprising arts
Humanities investigate literature and past culture and human values
Private University/College Rely more heavily on student feels to fund academic programs
Doctorate any of several academical degree awarded by universities for completing advanced work in graduate school

Registrar Registers students record grades prepare student transcripts.
Teacher assistant A graduate student in a college or university who is recipient of a teacher fellowship
Transfer To withdraw from one school to another
Transcript Certified record of student throughout the course of study having a full enrollment history
GPA A measure of scholastic attainment computed by dividing the total number of grade point received by the total number of credits
Dean The head faculty school or administrative in a university or college.
Room and Board Room as your dorm or housing
Dormitory A building as at a college containing a number of private or semiprivate rooms for residents
