ACE Inhibitors/ ARBs

| What is an ACE inhibitor do? | Lowers blood pressure by blocking the angiotensin converting enzyme from converting AT1 to AT2. This will help kidneys excrete salt and water since there is minimal aldosterone release and therefore cause vasodilation and BP to decrease. |

| What does an ARB do? | Angiotensin II Receptor blockers block type 1 angiotensin II receptors on blood vessels and other tissues preventing angiotensin II from binding. |
