Solomon Asch (Line Experiment) A Polish-American social psychologist most famous for his Line Experiment which is an experiment used to measure the effectiveness of social pressure. Participants were placed with actors asked which of the lines match. Participants ended up conforming.
Stanley Milgram (Obedience Study) An American social psychologist most famous for his Obedience study which was an study on obedience to authority. Subjects were instructed to continue shocking another person (actor). 65% of subjects shocked at the highest level.
Philip Zimbardo (Standford Prison Experiment) (and The Power of the situation)* An American social psychologist most famous for his Prison Experiment, an experiment demonstrating the power of social situations. He randomly assigned students to prisoners/guards studying the situational power dynamic, Showing the power of situations.
