Psych History and Systems Chapter one vocabulary

Naturalistic theory The view that progress and change in scientific history are attributable to the zeitgeist, which makes a cultural receptive to some ideas but not to others.
Structuralism E.B. Titcheners system of psychology which dealt with conscious experience as dependant on experiencing persons.
Functionalism A system of psychology concerned with the mind as it used in an organism's adaption to it's environment.
Behaviorism John B. Watson science of behavior, which dealt soley with observable behavioral acts that could be described through objective terms.
Gestalt psychology A system of psychology that focuses largely involved in sensory.
Psychoanalysis Sigmund freud's theory of personality.
Humanistic Psychology System that emphasizes study of conscious experience and the wholeness ofhuman nature.
Cognitive psychology A system that focuesse on process of knowing how mind organizes experiences.
