Chapter 3 terms
| Term | Definition |

| Multicultural education | An educational construct that addresses cultural diversity, equity in schools, justice, and democracy |
| Justice | Broadening students' perspectives by exposing them to different opinions with respect to real-world issues such as sexism, racism, and poverty |
| Subcultures | Specialized groups within a larger society that differentiate themselves through unique values, norms, and lifestyles |
| Exceptionality group | A group sharing a set of specific abilities or disabilities that are especially values or that require special accommodations within a given subculture |
| Curriculum-based measurement (CBM) | Direct and frequent samples of performance from the curriculum in which students are being instructed |
| Classwide peer tutoring (CWPT) | Students will help their peers, allowing teachers to provide culturally sensitive instruction to all members of a diverse group at once |
| Sheltered-English approach | Students receive instruction in English for most of the school day from the beginning of their schooling |
| Equity | Refers to impartiality and justice. It means that everyone gets what they need. |
| Diversity | Refers to differences and experiences that occur in a group where one person or experience is different |
| Inclusion | Is the act of making a person or thing a part of a group or collection |
