Uni (one), Vac (empty)

| Unicycle | A vehicle with one wheel |
| Uniform | Having one form or appearance; also a standard outfit |
| Unify | To make into one or bring together |
| Unity | The state of being one; harmony |
| Universe | Originally, "turned into one"; all existing matter and space as one whole |
| University | A collection of colleges acting as one institution |
| Unique | One of a kind |
| Unilateral | One-sided |
| Union | The act of joining into one |
| Vacuum | A space that is completely empty of matter |
| Vacation | A time when you are free from work or other obligations; to leave for a break |
| Vacant | Empty or unoccupied (e.g., a vacant room). |
| Evacuate | To remove or empty out people or things from a place |
| Invaluable | Not empty of value; extremely valuable (note the double negative--something so valuable it can't be emptied of value) |
| Vacate | To leave a place; to make it empty |
| Vacationer | Someone who is free from work, taking a vacation |
| Vacuous | Empty-headed or lacking content |
| Vacillate | To waver or be undecided (moving between two choices, metaphorically "empty" or firm decision) |
