Forces Week 1

These are the vocabulary words used in week 1 of force and motion.

TermDefinition
Force A push or pull that one object exerts on another object with or without direct contact.
Friction A Force that opposes motion through direct contact.
Mass The amount of matter a substance or object has.
Speed The distance traveled by an object in a given amount of time.
Gravity is the force by which all objects in the universe are pulled toward each other.
Balanced Forces Forces that are equal in size but opposite in direction.
Unbalanced Forces Forces that are unequal in size and may or may not be opposite in direction.
