What is the difference between mechanical and chemical digestion? Mechanical is physical breakdown while chemical is enzymes break down food
Where does digestion starts? Mouth
What is chyme ? semi-liquid mixture of partially digested food in the stomach
What is the main role of duodenum? major chemical digestion
Where does most nutrients get absorbed? Small intestine
What is peristalsis? Wave-like muscle contractions that move food forward
Where does fat digestion start? Small intestine
Where does protein digestion start? Stomach (pepsin)
Where is most water absorbed? Large intestine
