| function | A relationship where each input has exactly one output. |
| quadratic | A type of function or equation that includes a squared term and forms a parabola when graphed. |
| polynomial | An expression made of terms that are sums of powers of variables with coefficients. |
| factor | A number or expression that is multiplied by another to get a product. |
| literature | Written works, especially those considered to have artistic or lasting value. |
| genre | A category or type of literature, such as fiction, poetry, or drama. |
| narrative | A story or account of events, real or imagined. |
| protagonist | The main character or leading figure in a story. |
| antagonist | The character or force that opposes the protagonist. |
| climax | The most exciting or intense point in a story, where the main conflict comes to a head. |
| resolution | The part of a story where the conflict is resolved and loose ends are tied up. |
| foreshadow | To give hints or clues about events that will happen later in a story. |
| symbolism | The use of symbols to represent ideas or deeper meanings. |
| theme | The central idea, message, or lesson that a story explores. |
| analysis | Careful examination of parts of a text to understand how they work together. |
| synthesize | To combine ideas from different sources to form a new understanding. |
| infer | To figure something out using clues and prior knowledge, not just direct statements. |
| evaluate | To judge the quality, value, or importance of something. |
| interpret | To explain the meaning of something, such as a text or event. |
| critique | To analyze and judge the strengths and weaknesses of a work or idea. |
| perspective | A point of view or way of looking at something. |
| context | The circumstances or background information that help explain a text or event. |
| relevant | Closely connected to the topic or question; important to the matter at hand. |
| evidence | Information or details that support a claim, idea, or argument. |
| argument | A claim or position supported by reasons and evidence. |
