TermDefinition
force a push or pull that causes an object to move, stop moving, or change direction
gravity the force that pulls objects to earth
weight a measure of the pull of gravity on an object
balanced forces forces acting on an object that are equal in size and opposite in direction
unbalanced forces forces that are not equal and cause a change in movement
friction a force that opposes, or acts against motion, when two surfaces rub against each other
air resistance the force of friction that opposes an object's motion through the air, slowing it down
momentum a measure of how hard it is to slow down or stop an object
