Cannon-Bard theory emotion-arousing stimulus triggers both (1) physiological responses and (2) subjective experience of emotion at the SAME TIME
Two-factor (Schachter-Singer) theory to experience emotion, we must (1) be physically aroused and (2) cognitively label said arousal
Lazarus theory appraisal (conscious and/or unconscious) defines the emotions we feel
Basic emotions joy, anger, interest, disgust, surprise, sadness, fear, shame, guilt, contempt
Autonomic nervous system (ANS) (sympathetic division) regulates physiological arousal in emotion, triggers adrenal glands, provides energy
