Gestalt Laws of Perceptual Organization

TermDefinition
Proximity * You tend to want to group things seen together because they are together, even if they aren't supposed to be.
Closure* The way that the brain is able to perceive stimuli that isn't seen as whole/complete through the eyes.
Similarity* The tendency for the brain to perceive elements similarly visually to belong to the same groups.
Common Fate You perceive things that are moving in the same direction as at the same speed, or as a group.
Continuity The tendency to perceive things that are arranged in a line/curve as more related than things that aren't.
