| business plan | a document that defines a business's objectives and strategies, which usually includes a business summary, market research, and plan for execution |
| bystander | one who is present but not taking part in a situation or event |
| commercial purposes | to use in connection with a business, usually for profit |
| copyright | the exclusive legal right to reproduce, publish, sell, or distribute something such as written, musical, or artistic works |
| constraints | a constraining condition, agency, or force; a check |
| creativity | the use of imagination or original ideas or an individual's ability to create |
| criteria | standards on which a judgment or decision is made |
| cyberbullying | the electronic posting of mean-spirited messages about a person, often done anonymously |
| derogatory | expressive of a low opinion, detracting from the character or standing of something |
| digital citizenship | navigating the digital world safely, responsibly, and ethically |
| digital media | electronic or media platforms that allow users to create, communicate, and interact with one another via device or application |
| engineering design process | a series of steps that engineers or innovators can apply to develop a solution to a problem |
| encourager | a person who inspires others with courage, spirit, or confidence |
| entrepreneur | one who organizes, manages, and assumes the risks of a business or enterprise; one who owns his own business |
| escalate | to increase in extent, volume, number, amount, intensity, or scope |
| ethics | the principles of conduct governing an individual or group |
| facial expression | the look on one's face which is responsible for a vast percentage of nonverbal communication |
| facilitator | a person who makes an action or process easier |
| goal | the end toward which effort is aimed |
| gesture | a movement usually of the body or limbs that expresses or emphasizes an idea, sentiment, or attitude |
| harass | to annoy persistently; to create an unpleasant situation |
| invention | something that has been produced for the first time through the use of the imagination or of ingenious thinking and experimentation, the ability to create something new or the act of new process, product, or service |
| innovation | the introduction of something new |
| innovator | a person who introduces something as new or as if new |
| integrity | firm adherence to a code of moral values |
| kinesthetic learning | learning style that involves completing physical activity |
| leadership | behavior of motivating people to act towards a common goal, attitude, or belief |
| market research | the activity of gathering information to understand the needs of your customer; this research helps to identify the value of the product that is being offered |
| manufacture | to produce something with a machine |
| mediator | a person who attempts to make people involved in a conflict come to an agreement; a go-between |
| nonverbal communication | communication that is not involving or using words |
| patent | a writing securing for a term of years the right to exclude others from making, using, or selling an invention |
| persona | an image and personality that you show to others |
| phishing | a scam by which an internet user is deceived |
| phase | a distinguishable part in a course, development, or cycle |
| personal brand | the depiction and marketing of oneself, typically includes strengths and values as well as goal statements |
| privacy | the quality or state of being apart from company or observation |
| project evaluation | an assessment of as if the goals of the project were accomplished |
| project schedule | a listing of the project's timelines, activities, and deliverables |
| prototype | a first full scale and usually functional form of a new design of an invention |
| prioritize | to list or rate in order of importance or priority |
| public domain | creative work that is not protected by copyright and is free for anyone to use |
| request for proposal (RFP) | a legal document that is used to request proposals for a contract or service |
| recorder | a person who keeps records |
| resilience | the ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change |
| scam | a deceptive act or operation |
| self-awareness | an awareness of one's own personality and individuality |
| self-reflection | a reflective examination of one's beliefs or motives |
| student success plan | an outline of action steps needed to achieve one's goals |
| teamwork | work done by several associates with each doing a part but all subordinating personal prominence to the efficiency of the whole |
| upstander | a person who stands up for someone who is being mistreated |
| values | a person's judgement of what is important in life |
| vision statement | a description of what an individual would like to accomplish in the future |

| vulnerable | capable of being physically or emotionally wounded; open to attack |
