Broadcast and Film Terms and Definitions

Anchorman A person who presents and coordinates a live television or radio program involving other contributors
Audio (or Sound) Engineer An experienced person who records, mixes, and reproduces sound music, films, television, video games and other media
Camera Operator Somebody skillful who operates a film, television, or video camera to record scenes and capture images
Control Room A team that monitors and directs production for things like audio mixing, technical coordination, recording/broadcasting, etc.
Correspondents Specialize journalists who provides specific news, analysis, and reports sent by the entertainment industry or broadcast organization
Director The main person who supervises the actors/presenters, camera crew, and other staff for a movie, play, TV program, or similar production
Executive Producer High-level professional responsible for overseeing the financial and managerial aspects of a media project
Editor A person/team who is in charge of and determines the final content of a project
Freelance Working for different companies at different times rather than being permanently employed by one company
Graphics Operator Creates, manages, and displays on-screen graphics for live events, broadcasts, or presentations
Green Lit Giving permission to go ahead with (a project, especially a movie)
Journalism The activity or profession of writing for newspapers, magazines, or news websites or preparing news to be broadcast.

Location Manager Finds and secures filming locations for productions like movies, TV shows, and commercials
Off-Script To deviate from a prepared or planned text, whether in a performance, a speech, or a conversation
Producer A person responsible for the financial and managerial aspects of making of a movie or broadcast
Production Manager A professional who oversees the entire production process, from planning to completion, to ensure it runs efficiently, stays on budget, and meets quality standards
Reporters They report something news-worthy and conduct interviews for newspapers or broadcasts their hired by
Scriptwriters A person who writes a script for a play, movie, broadcast or other medias
Set Designer Those people creates the physical environment and visual scenery for productions like plays, films, and television shows
Soundman A technician responsible for a wide range of audio-related tasks, such as controlling and mixing sound for live events, recording music, or producing sound effects for film and television
Technical Producer They're responsible for managing the technical aspects of a media production to ensure it runs smoothly and efficiently
Video Operator An educated person responsible for capturing, managing, and operating video and camera equipment for television, film, or other media productions
