States of Matter
4 types of matter

| solid | the state of matter that has BOTH definite shape and volume |
| State of matter | a form with distinct characteristics in which matter can exist |
| liquid | the state of matter that has a definite volume but indefinite shape |
| gas | the state of matter that has indefinite shape and volume |
| freezing | a change in the state of matter from a LIQUID to a SOLID |
| melting | a change in the state of matter from a SOLID to a LIQUID |
| BEV (boiling, evaporation, vaporization) | a change in the state of matter from a LIQUID to a GAS |
| condensation | a change in the state of matter from a GAS to a LIQUID |
| sublimation | a change in the state of matter from a SOLID to a GAS |
| deposition | a change in the state of matter from a GAS to a SOLID |
| endothermic | a process or reaction that absorbs heat |
| exothermic | a process or reaction that releases heat |
