TermDefinition
bucc/o means cheek as in buccocarcinoma, a cancerous tumor of the cheek
cheil means lips as in cheilitis, inflammation of the lips
ptosis means falling as in gastroptosis, falling of the stomach
sial means salivary gland as in sialolithiasis, condition of stones in the salivary glands
-enter means small intestine as in enteropathy, disease of the small intestine
lith means stones as in lithiasis, abnormal condition of stones
stenosis means narrowing as in enterostenosis, a narrowing of the intestines
hepat means liver as in hepatomegaly, a large liver
deglutition means swallowing
mastication means chewing
-cholecyst means gallbladder as in cholecystogram, a study or record of the gallbladder
