what are the layers of the skin? function? Epidermis:Keratinocytes, no blood vessels acts as a Barrier, waterproofing. Dermis: Collagen, elastin, glands, nerves, vessels. Gives Strength, sensation, nourishment. Hypodermis: Fat and connective tissue , gives Insulation, energy, padding
What is ph? pH measures how acidic or basic something is. A low pH (below 7) means it's acidic, with lots of hydrogen ions (H⁺). A high pH (above 7) means it's basic (or alkaline), with lots of hydroxide ions (OH⁻). A pH of 7 is neutral, with equal amounts of both.
Mitochondria: The power plant, making energy.
Plasma membrane: The factory walls, letting in supplies and sending out finished goods
Golgi apparatus: The shipping department, packaging products
Nucleus: The main office, holding the instructions (DNA).
Ribosomes: The assembly line workers, building proteins
Lysosomes: The waste disposal, breaking down trash.
Peroxisomes: The hazardous waste disposal, handling toxic materials.
How do the Skeletal and Muscular system work together? support, protect, and balance. Muscles are attached to bones, when they tighten, they pull on the bones to create movement. Bones give the body shape, and muscles hold them in place and keep us upright. Bones protect organs, and muscles add extra support
