Biosphere The parts of the Earth and the surrounding atmosphere where there's life.
Community Population of different species that all live together.
Population All the organisms of the same species that live in the same space at the same time.
Competition The demand for resources such as water, food, and shelter.
Limiting Factor Anything that restricts the size of a population.
Population Density The size of a population compared to the amount of space available.
Biotic Potentional The potential growth of a population if it could grow with perfect conditions with no limiting factors.
Carrying Capacity The largest number of individuals of one species that an environment can support.
Birth Rate The number of offspring produced over a time period.
Death Rate The number of people that die over the same time period as the birth rate.
Extinct Species A species that has completely died out and there is nobody left.
Endangered Species A species whose population is at a severe risk to be extinct.
Threatened Species A species whose population is at risk to be endangered but not quite yet.
Migration The instinctive seasonal movement of a population of organisms to one place to another.
Habitat The place where an organism lives.
Niche What an organism does in it's ecosystem to survive.
Producers Organisms who produce their own food.
Consumers Organisms who get energy by consuming other organisms.
Symbiosis The long-term exchange of energy between two organisms.
Mutualism A relationship where two organisms benefit
Commensalism A relationship where one organism benefits but the other is not benefiting nor being affected.
Parasitism A relationship where one organism benefits but the other is harmed.
