Energy Transformations through Circuits and Light
| Term | Definition |

| Chemical energy | energy stored in the bonds of atoms and molecules of substances (e.g., food, natural gas, batteries, petroleum, biomass, and propane contain stored chemical energy) |
| Circuit | the path through which electricity can flow |
| Electrical energy | moves through an electric circuit, flowing through electric conductors |
| Energy | the ability to cause change in matter |
| Energy transformation | process of energy changing from one form to another |
| Absorbed | light energy taken in by an object |
| Light | a form of energy which our eyes can detect |
| Reflection | a wave behavior in which waves strike an object and bounce back off |
| Refraction | change in direction of a wave as it moves from one medium to another |
