| pollination | the act of transferring pollen grains from the male anther of a flower to the female stigma. |
| migrate | when animals move from one region or habitat to another according to the seasons. |
| complete metamorphosis | the life cycle of an insect that has four specific stages; egg, larva, pupa, and adult. |
| inherit | characteristics or genes that are passed from your parents. |
| slash pine | a large heavily branched tree that is natural to Florida. This tree is a non-flowering, seed-bearing plant. |
| orange tree | this is a flowering and fruit bearing plant that is can easily grow in the Florida climate. |
| environment | everything around us, both living and non-living, that affects where we live and how we live |
| germination | the growth of a plant from a seed. |
| learned behavior | a skill or behavior that is learned from their parents when the animal is learning how to do things and survive. Ex - how to catch a fish |
| trait | a feature, characteristic, or quality of an animal that is inherited from the parents. Ex - white feathers |
| pollution | when something dirty or harmful gets into the air, water, or land, making it unhealthy for people, animals, and plants. |
