predator an organism that kills another for food or nutrients
prey an organism that is killed or hunted by another
symbiosis a relationship in which two organisms live together and at least one benefits
mutualism a symbiotic relationship between members of two species in which both benefit
commensalism a symbiotic relationship in which one species benefits and the other species is neither helped nor harmed
parasitism features that make organisms different from one another
variation any difference among individuals of the same population that is passed on from the previous generation
behavioral variation difference in the way organisms in the same population act
physical variation difference in the body structures of organisms in the same population
