land boom a sudden increase in both the demand for and the price of land
profit When you sell something for more money than it originally cost
loss when you sell something for less money than it originally cost
stocks shares or portions of ownership in a companies
stock market a place where stocks are bought and sold
loan Money lent to someone; often from the bank
depression a time when business activity is slow and many people are unemployed
unemployed out of work
relief aid given to someone in need
New Deal President Roosevelt's federal program that created jobs and set up laws to make both the banking system and the stock market safer
Holocaust The murder of millions of Jewish people and other groups by the Nazi's in Germany during WWII
rationing a time when the amount of food or supplies that can be purchased is is limited by the government
saboteur someone who secretly destroys property or carries out harmful actions against an enemy
