Vocabulary Review

Electric Charge Protons ( Positives) and (Negative))Electrons.
Electric Field An area around a charged object where it can push or pull on other charged objects, even if they aren't touching
Static Electricity Build up of electrical charges on an object.
Conductor A material that allows energy to pass through it.
Insulator A material that doesnt allow energy to pass through it.
Repel To push something away or apart.
Attract To pull something or someone toward something else.
Protons A tiny, positively charged particle found in the center of an atom, called the nucleus.
Neutrons Neutral subatomic particles found inside the nucleus of every atom.
Electrons Negative charge tiny particles that are located in the center of an atom.
Gravitational Force Attractive force that pulls objects toward each other.
Mass The amount of matter in an object.
Weight Weight is the force that gravity exerts on an object due to its mass
Insulator A material that does not easily allow the flow of electricity or heat through it
Conductor A material that allows electricity or heat to flow through it easily.
Friction A force that happens when two surfaces rub against each other
Magnet Force The push or pull between two magnets
Magnet Feild The area around a magnet where its magnetic force can be felt is
Magnet Poles Two ends of a magnet where the magnetic force is strongest
