TermDefinition
Analyze To critically examine the components of a subject to understand its meaning and/or nature as a whole
Theme The subject or underlying meaning that a literary text directly or indirectly explains, develops, and/or explores
Interact To act in such a manner as to influence one another
Plot The sequence of events in a story, play, movie, etc.
Text Anything that you can read, write, view, listen to, or explore including books, photographs, films, articles, music, art, and more
Exposition The beginning of the story; includes the setting and introduction to the characters
Rising Action Begins the major conflict
Climax The most intense/exciting part of the story; the character(s) have a major decision to make
Falling Action This is what happens after the major conflict end
Resolution This resolves the conflict and finalizes all loose ends in the story
