Scientific investigation Scientific investigation refers to the systematic and objective process of gathering and analyzing evidence to answer a research question or test a hypothesis.
Research Research is a systematic investigation or study conducted to gain knowledge, solve problems, or answer questions. It involves collecting and analyzing data, reviewing existing literature, and drawing conclusions based on the findings.
Observation Observation is a method used to gather information about a specific phenomenon or behavior by directly watching and recording it. It can be used in various fields, such as healthcare, education, and research.
Inference Inference refers to the process of drawing conclusions or making predictions based on available evidence or data.
Hypothesis Hypothesis testing is a process used in scientific research to make a decision between two conflicting hypotheses.
Experiment An experiment is a procedure in which a specific object of study is subjected to interventions or manipulations in order to obtain predictable outcomes or aspects of the outcome.
Independent Variable An independent variable is a factor or condition that is manipulated or controlled by the researcher in an experiment.
Dependent Variable A dependent variable is the variable that is being measured or observed in a study. It is the outcome or response variable that is expected to be influenced by the independent variable(s).
Controlled Variable A controlled variable is a factor or condition that is intentionally manipulated or regulated in an experiment or study.
Control Control is a broad concept that can be applied to various domains, including psychology, biology, medicine, and social sciences. In psychology, control refers to the perception or experience of having influence or power over one's environment or outcomes.
Data Data refers to a collection of facts, statistics, or information that is gathered through observation, measurement, or research.
Conclusion the last main division of a discourse, usually containing a summing up of the points and a statement of opinion or decisions reached.
Analyze to examine carefully and in detail so as to identify causes, key factors, possible results, etc.
Data Trends data trends refer to the patterns and changes observed in data over time.
