Gravity in Motion

TermDefinition
Solar System consists of the Sun and everything that orbits, or travels around, the Sun
Gravity a force that pulls objects towards each other
Law of Universal Gravitation states that every particle attracts every other particle in the universe with a force that is proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centers.
Mass a measure of how much matter is in an object
Weight a measure of how heavy something is, or the force of gravity acting on an object
Inertia the tendency of an object to resist changes in its state of motion
Orbit the curved path that one object takes while circling around another object in space
Rotate to turn or cause something to turn in a circle, especially around a fixed point
Counter-Clockwise in the opposite direction to the way in which the hands of a clock move around.
Air Resistance a force that acts opposite to the motion of an object moving through the air,
Vacuum a space completely devoid of matter, meaning there is no air or particles present within it; essentially, an empty space
