what is the James-Lange Theory of emotion? when encountering a stimulus, your body reacts physically first. your brain then interprets these physical changes leading to the experience of an emotion
what is the Cannon-Bard Theory? our bodily reactions (e.g., physiological arousal) and emotions occur separately but simultaneously. ex. i pass someone in a dark alley & experience fear the the same time as my heart begins to beat fast.
what is the Two-Factor Theory? how we interpret (cognitive appraisal) a situation matters. Our physical reactions and our thoughts together create emotion. ex. i pass someone in a dark alley, my heart begins to beat fast, i interpret the sit as being dan, expe the emotion of fear
