| molestation | adults and older children performing sexual acts on a child |
| sexual exploitation | sexual abuse of children/adults in exchange for drugs, food, shelter, protection, basic life needs, money |
| date rape | raped from someone a victim knows socially or is dating |
| Date rape drugs | substances used by predators to rape their victims (ketamine, rohypnol) |
| victim-blame | the tendency for the victim to blame themselves for someone else’s abusive actions “i shouldn’t have worn that top” “i should’ve never went out that night” |
| marital rape | rape by a spouse, rape in marriage |
| rape-prone societies (characteristics) | women don't have equal power, male violence is tolerated, violence is sexualized, aggressiveness/competition are encouraged among men, rape myths are accepted |
| perpetrators (characteristics) | low self esteem, hostile attitudes toward women, conservative/moralistic tendencies, sex negative attitudes about intimacy, associate w/people who accept rape |
| childhood sexual abuse | sexual abuse against a minor (molestation, sexual exploitation, sexual assault) |

| Quid pro quo harassment | “Something for something” , sexual conduct become a condition of employment or personnel action |
| hostile environment | the harassment of someone interferes with a person’s ability to be productive and work |
| sex trafficking risks | poverty, disease, corruption, exploitation by the government/police |
