Precipitation any form of water that falls from clouds and reaches Earth’s surface
Hail pellets of frozen rain which fall in showers from cumulonimbus clouds
Humidity the amount of water vapor in a given volume of air
Altitude elevation above sea level
Atmosphere the envelope of gases surrounding Earth
Air mass a huge body of air that has similar temperature, humidity, and air pressure at any given height
Front the boundary where unlike air masses meet but do not mix
Gravity the force that attracts a body toward the center of the Earth, or toward any other physical body having mass
Hurricane a tropical storm that has winds of about 119 kilometers per hour or higher
Weather forecast prediction of the conditions of the atmosphere for a specific location and time
Climate the average, year-after-year conditions of temperature, precipitation, winds, and clouds in an area
Storm a violent disturbance in the atmosphere
Tornado a rapidly rotating, funnel-shaped cloud that reaches down to touch Earth’s surface
Weather the condition of Earth’s atmosphere at a particular time and place
Blizzard a severe snowstorm with high winds and low visibility
Moisture water or other liquid diffused in a small quantity as vapor, within a solid, or condensed on a surface
Breeze a gentle wind
Rainforest a forest in the tropical wet climate zone
Cloud a visible mass of condensed water vapor floating in the atmosphere, typically high above the ground
Water cycle the process by which water moves through the Earth & atmosphere by evaporation, condensation, and precipitation
