The Wrist Joint

What des the radial collateral ligament do? Limits wrist adduction
What does the ulnar collateral ligament do? Limits wrist abduction
What does the palmar radiocarpal and ulnocarpal ligament do? Limits wrist extension
What does the dorsal radiocarpal ligament do? Limits wrist flexion
Flexor retinaculum - Horizontal fibrous band of connective tissue on palmar surface of wrist - Holds flexor tendons close to wrist
Extensor retinaculum - Horizontal fibrous band of connective tissue on dorsal surface of wrist - Holds extensor tendons close to wrist
What motions are allowed at the wrist? - Flexion/Extension - Abduction/Adduction
What is a common flexor tendon? - Attaches to medial epicondyle of humorous
What is a common extensor tendon? - Attaches to lateral epicondyle of humorous
