| circuit | path through which an electric current flows |
| open circuit | a circuit that has an opening or break that prevents electricity from flowing all the way through |
| closed circuit | a circuit that has not opening or breaks that allows the flow of electricity to continue all the way through |
| conductor | material that allows electricity or heat to pass |
| insulator | material through which electric charge cannot flow very easily of at all |
| conversion | the process of changing from one form or system to another |
| electrical energy | energy from the flow of electric charge through a conductor |
| electricity | the presence and flow of electrical charges |
| energy transfer | the movement of energy from one object or material to another |
| friction | A force that resists the motion of two surfaces sliding across one another that can result in heat |
| heat energy | energy transferred through the change in temperature of materials |
| motion | the act of changing location and moving from one place to another |
| solar energy | Energy that comes from the Sun and converted to usable energy; a renewable resource; power collected from the sun's heat |
| sound | vibrations that can be heard, noise |
| vibrations | a series of small fast movements back and forth or from side to side |
