Medical Terminology

TermDefinition
EHR The acronym EHR stands for Electronic Health Records or Paper Chart.
SOAP Soap is the acronym for the four general parts of the medical note; Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan.
Social History A record of habits like smoking, drinking, drug abuse, or sexual practices that can impact health.
SICU The acronym SICU stands for the Surgical Intensive Care unit.
CCU The acronym CCU stands for the Coronary Care Unit.
Pre-op Pre-op is the are patients wait before their surgery begins.
Post-op Post-op is the are patients recover after their surgery is complete.
DDx The acronym DDx stands for Differential Diagnosis.
FHx The acronym FHx stands for the patients Family History.
PCP The acronym PCP stands for the patients Primary Care Provider.
