Land & Water

TermDefinition
continent largest land areas on Earth. (7 of them)
landform form of shape of part of Earth's surface.
weather relates to the daily conditions outside, such as hot or rainy. (day-to-day conditions)
climate weather a place has over a long period of time. (overall temperature)
elevation height of land above sea level, affects climate too.
vegetation both the temperature and the amount of rainfall determines the types of vegetation, or kinds of plants life, that grow.
ecosystem where all living things, such as the plants and animals, interact with each other.
agricultural region a place where there is much land and soil.
industrial region a place where there are many factories.
renewable resource resource that can be replaced in a short amount of time.
nonrenewable resource resource that cannot be replaced or take a long time to be replaced.
conserve to save and protect
erosion washing away of soil by rain, wind, and nearby rivers.
recycle to use an item again.
irrigate to bring water in through pipes.
