| Protagonist | the leading character or one of the major characters in a drama, movie, novel, or other fictional text |
| Antagonist | a person who is opposed to, struggles against, or competes with another; opponent; adversary |
| Context clues | A hint in the surrounding text that can help a reader infer the meaning of an unfamiliar word, phrase or description. |
| Fiction | literature that is imaginary, untrue or invented |
| Prediction | a logical guess about what future events might happen |
| Infer | deduce or conclude (information) from evidence and reasoning rather than from explicit statements |
| Deceive | cause (someone) to believe something that is not true, typically in order to gain some personal advantage. |
| Precise | marked by exactness and accuracy of expression or detail |
| Topic | a subject or part of a a conversation |
| Theme | the main subject of a talk or a piece of writing |
