life process a function that an organism performs to stay alive and produce more of its own kind
reproduce when organisms make more organisms of their own kind
cell the basic unit that makes up all living things
organism any living thing that can carry out life processes on its own
organ a special part of an organism's body that performs a specific function
tissue a group of similar cells that work together
organ system a group of organs that work together to carry out life processes
root the part of a plant that takes in water and nutrients from the ground
stem the part of a plant that carries food, water, nutrients to and from the roots
leaf the part of the plant that uses sunlight and air to help the plant make food
photosynthesis the process plants use to make food
chlorophyll a green material in plants that traps energy from sunlight and gives leaves their green color
