Hindsight bias When people have the tendency to believe, after learning an outcome that one would've foreseen
Overconfidence when people have too much confidence rather than being correct
theory explains behaviors or events by offering ideas that organize observations
Hypothesis A testable prediction
Operational definition a carefully worded statement of the exact procedures used in a research study
Replication repeating a research study with different variables to see whether the basic finding can be reproduced
Case study A technique that uses one subject to gather information revealing universal principles
Naturalistic observation technique of observing and recording behavior in natural situations
Survey A technique to obtain attitudes or behaviors of group
Sampling bias a flawed sampling process produces an Un trustable outcome
Population all those in a group being studied from which samples are drawn
Random sampling a sample that fairly represents a population because each member is randomly picked
