| Hindsight bias | When people have the tendency to believe, after learning an outcome that one would've foreseen |
| Overconfidence | when people have too much confidence rather than being correct |

| Hypothesis | A testable prediction |
| Operational definition | a carefully worded statement of the exact procedures used in a research study |
| Replication | repeating a research study with different variables to see whether the basic finding can be reproduced |
| Case study | A technique that uses one subject to gather information revealing universal principles |
| Naturalistic observation | technique of observing and recording behavior in natural situations |
| Survey | A technique to obtain attitudes or behaviors of group |
| Sampling bias | a flawed sampling process produces an Un trustable outcome |
| Population | all those in a group being studied from which samples are drawn |
| Random sampling | a sample that fairly represents a population because each member is randomly picked |
