| Convalescence (n)- | Time spent recovering from an illness or medical treatment ; recuperation Convalesce is the verb form and convalescent is the adjective form |
| Duplicity (n)- | Deceitfulness; double dealing; doubleness Duplicitous is the adjective form |
| Effusive (adj)- | Expressing feelings of gratitude, pleasure, or approval in an unrestrained or heartfelt manner |
| Haughty (adj)- | Arrogantly superior and disdainful |
| Nostalgia (n)- | A sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations Nostalgic is the adjective form |
| Parsimonious (adj)- | Unwilling to spend money or use resources; stingy or frugal |
| Propriety (n)- | - The state or quality of conforming to conventionally accepted standards of behavior or morals -The details or rules of behavior conventionally considered to be correct - The condition of being right, appropriate, or fitting |
| Pedantic (adj)- | excessively concerned with minor details and rules or with displaying academic learning |
| Terse (adj)- | Sparing in the use of words; abrupt |
| Anaphora | Repetition of a word, phrase, or clause at the beginning of two or more sentences in a row. This is a deliberate form of repetition and helps make the writer’s point more coherent. |
| Allegory | A story or poem in which characters, settings, and events stand for other people or events or for abstract ideas or qualities. |
| Colloquialism | A word or phrase that is not formal or literary, typically one used in ordinary or familiar speech; the use of ordinary or familiar words/phrases |
| Diction- | the choice and use of words and phrases in speech or writing. |
| Motif- | a distinctive feature or dominant idea in an artistic or literary composition. |
