Ambivalent (adj)- Having mixed feelings or  contradictory  ideas about something or someone
Convalescence (n)- Time spent  recovering  from an illness or medical treatment ;  recuperation Convalesce is the verb form and convalescent is the adjective form
Duplicity (n)- Deceitfulness; double dealing; doubleness Duplicitous is the adjective form
Effusive (adj)- Expressing feelings of gratitude, pleasure, or approval in an unrestrained or heartfelt manner
Haughty (adj)- Arrogantly superior and disdainful
Nostalgia (n)- A  sentimental   longing  or  wistful   affection  for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations Nostalgic is the adjective form
Parsimonious (adj)- Unwilling  to spend money or  use  resources;  stingy  or frugal
Propriety (n)- - The state or quality of conforming to conventionally accepted standards of behavior or morals -The details or rules of behavior conventionally considered to be correct - The condition of being right, appropriate, or fitting
Pedantic (adj)- excessively concerned with minor details and rules or with displaying academic learning
Terse (adj)- Sparing in the use of words; abrupt
Anaphora Repetition of a word, phrase, or clause at the beginning of two or more sentences in a row. This is a deliberate form of repetition and helps make the writer’s point more coherent.
Allegory A story or poem in which characters, settings, and events stand for other people or events or for abstract ideas or qualities.
Colloquialism A word or phrase that is not formal or literary, typically one used in ordinary or familiar speech; the use of ordinary or familiar words/phrases
Diction- the choice and use of words and phrases in speech or writing.
Motif- a distinctive feature or dominant idea in an artistic or literary composition.
