fracture a sudden breaking of a bone due to trauma
simple fracture the bone is broken but there is no open wound in the skin
compound fracture a bone is broken with an open wound in the skin
comminuted fracture when the bone is splintered or crushed
compression fracture when bone is compressed and this often occurs with vertebrae
Ewings sarcoma a malignant bone tumor and it usually occurs at an early age
Osteomyelitis an inflammation of the bone and bone marrow and it is caused by bacterial infection
Osteomalacia softening of the bone that is caused by inadequate amounts of mineral or calcium in the bone
Osteoporosis the decrease in bone density which results in a thinning and weakening of the bone
