What is Postoperative (T-tube or Delayed) Cholangiography? -T shaped catheter is placed in the common bile duct during the cholecystectomy - Catheter extends outside of the body and is clamped off
Clinical Indications? (Postoperative (T-tube or Delayed) Cholangiography) - Residual calculi (stones) - Strictures
Contraindications? (Postoperative (T-tube or Delayed) Cholangiography) - Allergy to iodinated contrast - Acute infection of biliary system - Elevated creatine or BUN level
NPO? (Postoperative (T-tube or Delayed) Cholangiography) 8 hours
Purpose? (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiographic Pancreatography (ERCP)) To examine the biliary and main pancreatic ducts
Endoscope used? (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiographic Pancreatography (ERCP)) Duodenal Scope
Clinical Indications? (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiographic Pancreatography (ERCP)) - Residual Calculi Strictures
Contraindications? (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiographic Pancreatography (ERCP)) - Allergy to iodinated contrast - Acute Infection of the biliary system - Possible pseudocyst of the pancreas - Elevated creatine or BUN levels
