What is Reciprocity? The tendency to return feelings and attitudes that are expressed about us.
What are Social Norms? Rules (written or not) that influence the way people behave in Social Settings.
What is Altruism? The unselfish regard for the welfare of others.
What is the actor-observer bias? The tendency to attribute ones own behavior to situational factors, but the behavior of others to internal factors.
Attitudes are? The enduring belief of people, places, and objects.
What is Risky-Shift? The tendency to make riskier decisions as a member of a group, than on your own.
What is the Self-Serving Bias? The tendency to believe that ones successes are attributed to internal factors, and ones failures to external factors.
What is the peripheral route of persuasion? A method using emphasis on factors other than the message itself.
Persuasion is? The influence on a persons choices of decisions.
What is cognitive dissonance? Tension that occurs when a persons attitude doesn't match their actions.
Social Loafing is? When people put in less effort in completing a task when they are in a group.
What is Social Facilitation? The improved performance because of the presence of others.
What are the three parts of Sternberg's Triangle of Love? Intimacy, Commitment, Passion.
What are the causes of prejudice? People want acceptance, People over-generalize groups of people, and Ignorance.
What is a behavior? Observable and measurable actions of people and animals.
What is the Central Route of Persuasion? Uses evidence and logical arguments to persuade people.
What is the best way to persuade someone to do something? Start with their argument first, then give reasons why your way is better.
What are Cognitive Anchors? Persistent beliefs that shape the ways in which a person sees the world and interprets events.
What is discrimination? The unfair treatment of individuals because they are members of a particular group.
What is a Scapegoat. In individual or group that is blamed for the problems of others.
