| What is an agonist? | A medication that stimulates the effects of an existing process? |
| What does a wide therapeutic window indicate? | A medication with a greater range of doses that will work for patients |
| How is the therapeutic index value determined? | By taking a toxic dose of the medication and dividing it by the effective dose |
| What does a high therapeutic index value indicate? | Medications with a higher TI are safer |
| What is an example of a medication with a high therapeutic index? | Ibuprofen |
| What is an example of a medication with a low therapeutic index? | Phenytoin |
