| Advance Directive | A binding legal document prepared and signed by a competent individual outlining the person's wishes should the person become incapacitated; for example, a medical power of attorney and a living will |
| Caregiver | A person responsible for providing physical care and emotional support , usually in a home-care setting, to a person who is ill, disabled, or dependent |
| Host | A server that provides data transfer, storage space, and other services to users at remote locations;a host has aunique domain name and is, in effect, the point at which a website originates |
| Living Will | The part of an advanced directive that specifies which life-sustaining treatments (ex. Mechanical ventilation and tube feeding)should be administered or withheld if the person becomes incapacitated |
| Medical Power of Attorney | (AKA "Durable power of attorney or health care proxy) The part of an advanced directive naming a trusted person to make medical decisions on the patient's behalf should they become unable to make such decisions independently |
