| Term | Definition |

| Matter | Anything that has mass and takes up space. |
| Solubility | Measurement of the ability of a solid to dissolve in a liquid. |
| Substance | Matter that is made up of the same particles throughout. |
| Volume | How much space something takes up. |
| Magnetism | The property of attraction on to a magnet. |
| Conductor | Material that allows heat or electrical to easily flow through it. |
| Insulator | Material through which heat or electricity does not easily flow. |
| Mass | The amount of matter in something : measured in grams. |
| Physical Properties | Measurable characteristics that describe the physical state of something, including mass, magnetism, temperature, density, shape, volume, and conductivity. |
| Gravity | The force that pulls objects to the center of the Earth. |
